Review by Bonnie Corley
I just finished reading "Small Town Rowdy," this is a delightful adventure, and it is absolutely the perfect nostalgic summer read! Set in an idyllic, charmingly small-town in 1959, this story follows young female friends whose quest for a big adventure (and dreams of getting rich quick) takes a serious turn when one of them find herself in trouble.
What I loved most is that it is a perfect blend of humor and tension. The girls are clever and resourceful, and the young protagonist takes charge of a bad situation, proving that intelligence beats brute force.
Beyond the thrills, this book is a heartwarming exploration of family and friendship. It perfectly captures how the material things they initially wanted can never make you as rich as the love of family and the loyalty of true friends. It's funny, charming, and profoundly moving. If you love stories about fearless young girls in a simpler time, this is a must-read!
