Great Attention to Detail!
It can be difficult to emerge a reader into a futuristic setting. The author takes the time to build a foundation of technological understanding. Examples included how he dedicates chapter 5 to describe the multifunctionality (i.e. biological, biological, and linguistic) of space suits and in chapter 11 there is a rending of the med lab on the MWU Vanguard. This helps to make the story more believable and engages readers that like high degree of details. I also liked the theme of how a small-town young man makes good in an intergalactic setting. It captures the interest of adults of all ages.
