Thalia's Great Adventure, written by Danielle Outten and illustrated by Syranity Barker, is a charming book with positive messages for children in preschool through grade 3. Thalia sets out to see the world and meets many wise woodland creatures along the way. The chapter book features beautiful artwork that teaches young readers to overcome fear, work together, help others, believe in themselves, step out of their comfort zones, and find beauty in the world. Suggestion for teachers and parents: Review the discussion questions before reading the book with children. The questions provide insight into the story characters' actions. The book also provides space for children to create artwork to support their responses to the discussion questions.
