They Shall Shine

In the children's book They Shall Shine by Chris E. Steele, the farm's favorite dog, Desi, welcomes a stranger to Bitterroot Farm. The new cat on the farm, Dirt Bag, loves rolling in the mud. He finds it hard to make friends. "They won't like me," Dirt Bag mumbled. Through a growing friendship among the cat, the dog, and other barnyard animals, Steele teaches children to show lovingkindness to strangers. The book includes discussion or self-reflection questions that focus on loving God, loving oneself, and loving others. They Shall Shine can be read and enjoyed by children ages 8 to 10 or read aloud to younger children.
