Some of the poems were much more layered and interesting than others. Some hit me in the heart while others felt too removed. I wanted to have more rawness, more of the struggles that were hinted at beneath the layers. I could easily imagine many of these being set to music and sung as hymns. There were some really beautiful words therein.
